The panda comes from China and there's no way he's leaving this country. Because his favourite food is only available in China: Bamboo! But to get its fill of bamboo, it eats up to 20kg of it a day. Compared to adult animals, panda cubs are really tiny - they weigh just 90 - 130 g. Their fur is still white at the beginning and the typical fur pattern only appears after four weeks. They are suckled by their mother for up to 5 months, only then do they eat solid food. Their fur is a special feature. Due to the great contrast between black and white, the outlines of its shape become blurred. This means they are very well camouflaged during the day and don't have to worry about being attacked by enemies all the time.
