The Velociraptor was a small dinosaur that lived in China and Mongolia around 65 to 90 million years ago in the Upper Cretaceous period. It was an agile, bipedal predatory dinosaur that leapt at its prey and killed it with its big toe. It is very likely that Velociraptor had feathers at least on its arms and tail. This meant that it could not fly, but it was much better able to keep its balance when running. At 1.8 metres long, this dinosaur was not particularly large, but it was able to overpower other dinosaurs that were at least as large as itself. Perhaps the Velociraptor hunted in groups.
