The ichthyosaurs, also known colloquially as fish dinosaurs, lived exclusively in the sea. They could see in low light levels, but were still active during the day. They foraged for food in the depths of the ocean. The first complete skeleton of an ichthyosaur was found in 1811 by twelve-year-old Mary Anning in Lyme Regis, England, at a time when dinosaurs were still unknown.
