The little one-eyed monster Mike wants nothing more than to study at the famous Monster Uni so that he can later work as a scare artist. Once there, he meets fellow student Sulley in his first term and the two of them get into a fight about who is better suited to be a scare artist. This goes so far that they are thrown out of the university and even end up in the human world out of despair. Only together as a team do they make it back to the monster world. Although they are no longer allowed to study at the university, in the end they are able to prove to everyone that they are excellent frighteners. Monsters University tells the prequel to the Disney/Pixar animation hit Monsters Inc. and shows how the strong friendship between Mike and Sulley came about.
